Thanks to this thread and this forum in general with some due diligence I saved myself from being pulled in to a potential scam. I have been looking for a Z3 Coupe or M Coupe for a while now. I considered this car because 2.8 is easier to insure for me (female driver).
The seller of this car advertised before that this car was a special 1 of 5 for UK market 2.8 with full M bodykit. Wow.
After throwing the registration in to this website below which I found on this forum I was able to get the chassis number: WBACK51020LG08068

I input this to the etk.cc and shows as a 1999 model German LHD spec. This explains the airbag sticker on the driver side. Someone has gone through alot of trouble to convert a LHD to a RHD here.
I have a good friend who takes car of my 2001 Audi TT 1.8T. German car specialist and old friend. He was going to upgrade my wheels to the 3.2 TT alloys and found a set on Ebay. He found this set and warned me about this fake special edition 2.8 M Coupe
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-TT-3-...wAAOSwnDZT6D~E
From his extensive knowledge he said to me this guy who has a fetish for arrows in his listing is a real scam artist and he believes the car in the background is the same car I was nearly going to view. He apparently used to be called "Bluechip spares" and now goes by the name "repair-crash-repair". He told me many people had problems with this guys parts in the market and he had a bad reputation on various other forums. This seller apparently buys insurance write off and salvages parts and builds cars back up where he can. Change of ebay user title either to cover his tracks or avoid the tax man
anyway I would like to thank you guys all for being so precise and professional with your passion for the M coupe. I have learnt so much and saved myself a real headache.
