Thanks to this thread and this forum in general with some due diligence I saved myself from being pulled in to a potential scam. I have been looking for a Z3 Coupe or M Coupe for a while now. I considered this car because 2.8 is easier to insure for me (female driver).

The seller of this car advertised before that this car was a special 1 of 5 for UK market 2.8 with full M bodykit. Wow.

After throwing the registration in to this website below which I found on this forum I was able to get the chassis number: WBACK51020LG08068

    https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Login/Index

I input this to the etk.cc and shows as a 1999 model German LHD spec. This explains the airbag sticker on the driver side. Someone has gone through alot of trouble to convert a LHD to a RHD here.

I have a good friend who takes car of my 2001 Audi TT 1.8T. German car specialist and old friend. He was going to upgrade my wheels to the 3.2 TT alloys and found a set on Ebay. He found this set and warned me about this fake special edition 2.8 M Coupe

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-TT-3-...wAAOSwnDZT6D~E

From his extensive knowledge he said to me this guy who has a fetish for arrows in his listing is a real scam artist and he believes the car in the background is the same car I was nearly going to view. He apparently used to be called "Bluechip spares" and now goes by the name "repair-crash-repair". He told me many people had problems with this guys parts in the market and he had a bad reputation on various other forums. This seller apparently buys insurance write off and salvages parts and builds cars back up where he can. Change of ebay user title either to cover his tracks or avoid the tax man

anyway I would like to thank you guys all for being so precise and professional with your passion for the M coupe. I have learnt so much and saved myself a real headache.

    Sissy

Much better photos but still can't hide the wrong rear offset/wide track.

Strange how many times "original RHD" when it clearly never was originally RHD as they never made any non-m RHD.

          Good evening

New to the forum, I have bought this car and can give a wee bit of info! The car was originally left hand drive then converted to RHD by a woman from Germany then brought over. car is on 110km. 2 previous owners.

Was considering not buying it, but the guy seemed genuine enough. Asked me where I was from and said he would drive me a hour In my direction to get the feel of the car. Car ran well, engine was strong.

Interior is perfect, but the exterior, bodywork has a lot marks, a couple of big dents and the wheels are corroded badly. Service lights on two.

Didn't pay anywhere near the advertised price of 19k hence why I bought it. For what I plan, not really concerned about power at the moment just the shape which I'm in love with.

So far happy, MOT end of month so let's see what needs sorting out.

Previously owned Z4M and supercharged S2000.

Will be keeping eyes open for parts, genuine matts, ACS wing.
