I have just got my MC back from having some work done at Darren Wood. I had an ABS pump replaced (I supplied the part they did the work), MOT and new throttle cable fitted.

I have to say it was a real pleasure dealing with Darren and Mike both are very nice blokes and friendly, they both clearly like and understand their BMW's and especially like the M Coupes.
As has been said before, they are experienced BMW Technicians and clearly know their business.

Their labour prices seem very reasonable and their work standard very high.

All in it was a much more pleasurable experience than dealing with a main dealer, when you phone the garage up Mike or Derren are the ones that answer the phone, you can pick their brains and get impartial advice. . A further example, whilst my car was with them I accidentally phoned Mike on his work mobile from my mobile on a Sunday afternoon (they are closed on a Sunday); he didn’t answer but did ring me back within 3 minutes to ask how he could help me.

Essentially they have that old fashioned sense of delivering good quality and reliable customer service and really want to take the time to ensure the right job is done properly, even if that means a smaller bill for them.

Their opening hours seem really flexible (they both work long hours) but that means it is really convenient to drop off and pick up your car around your work hours, something that I think a lot of garages really need to learn and understand what a pain this can be.

I fully recommend them and will be having my next stage 2 service done by them. I am sure I have found the right garage to look after my MC for the future and all work on my car will be going their way from now on.

Lucky you Dave, they're only about 3 miles away from me, though traffic on the M60 can make that feel like a long journey at rush hour.

If I lived as close as you I would be there every free minute getting them to look at every aspect of my car to see what could be improved!

As it was, I left my car with them for over a week to give it a general all over health check and asking them to advise what work needed doing (I was determined to spend money heh heh). They gave it a clean bill of health beyond the three jobs I sepcifically booked it in for.

That is trust and that is great customer service. A sure fire way to win repeat custom in my book.

fixed price servicing for all bmw models, inspection 1& 2 amd mot's
I got the impression they were ex bmw technicians who have started up by themselves and when I spoke to Darren about a problem with my coupe he seemed to know whats what!
Website doesn't work, even if you remove the ,

no sign of them on scoot or yell.

Could do with an oil service and now the warranty has gone, no real point in taking it to the numpties at Halliwell Jones.

Got a website for them Dave?

Website used to work. Not quite sure what happened to it.
Next time I'm in I'll ask them. Perhaps the address has changed?

                Diff Mount Repair!

                Well just returned from honeymoon.
Picked up the car from Darren and Mike about 4 weeks ago. They'd had it for around 10 days. They lads stripped the back end down before it was taken to sapphire body shop in Manchester and a new improved bracket fabricated and welded into place.

The boot floor was also checked and given a clean bill of health.

Darren and Mike then rebuilt the back end and did a few other jobs in the meantime.

The usual very high level of service in abundance.
                Car drives fantastically again now!

Within a day of picking up the car she was on a Ferry to Ireland and, after being driven across to Tipperary, she made a fantastic wedding car. Certainly turned some heads.

Not yet got any photos of the repair unfortunately as didn't have a camera to hand when she was up on the ramps.

Incidentally Darren tells me their website is presently being redesigned.

Cheers Dave, so was I. Darren and Mike pulled out all the stops to get it done in time.

When I have gone through all the photos, will post some pics of her dressed up as the wedding car - looks quite special!

From memory it's basically an inspection I but with the shims checked which is the extra cost.

It would not include brake fluid as that is time not mileage dependant (every 2 years) or gear/diff oil as they were filled for life lol so you will need to ask for these.

The boot floor you can check the spot welds yourself but get them to check the diff bracket for even small cracks whilst on the ramp.

I don't think vanos or fuel filters are a service item either so you would have to ask for these.

Whilst Jontt is correct the back of your service manual details what is done at each service, I believe anyway.
