  • Z3MC Steering Wheel - something different for a change!!!

something ive been waiting a long time for

this is for my E36, but not sure if i want to fit it now

was looking at ideas other than the RAID wheel as they look nice, but are expensive and not the exact thing i would want. couldnt find anything decent, so contacted a friend who i have dealt with in the past to make something custom.

i specced it from start to finish, and was given exactly what i asked for (after the 3rd attempt and many arguments + £££ later )

based on a standard E36/Z3 type wheel, but modified to replicate the shape and feel of a far more modern day wheel (similar to that of a MK5/MK6 golf GTI wheel) this works with the OEM BMW airbag, yet to fit it to a car

i guess the red stitching, red band, and alcantara might not be to everyones taste, but having had a few wheels done in the past, i think ive narrowed it down to exactly how i would like it

diameter (height, top to bottom) is 350mm

this would have been right at home in my old imola red MC.

not sure if will try it in my M3, or my brothers MC yet!!! but will post pics

    your opinions are very welcomed!

anythings better than the bus wheel we have
    OE really lets it down.

thanks! forgot to add that (added now) and it was an important final detail

      350mm from top to bottom

didnt want to reduce anything else, specifically to keep the top part of the wheel as per OEM, so as to be able to see the dials/clocks through it properly

Indy, that's a thing of beauty!

As you say, I prefer all leather, but I love the stitching and the shape - it really looks impressive.

Unfortunately, I can't because I had to sea freight them. One to Saudi and one to Dubai to be fitted...and there are not many people around here who would know or pay for such things...I could try, but I would then have to wait until a custom one was done and go through the whole painful process of sea freighting them again because you cannot airfreight them in.
