  • S50 Right side engine bracket replacement

I have a split heat shield on the exhaust side engine mount and it means replacing the entire engine bracket as they are one piece,

Has anyone done this with the engine in situ as there appears to be no room to lower this part out . I am being advised it will need the subframe to be dropped which may give enough clearance?

That explains why I could never find the heat shield separately. Bit poor to have it riveted on and not available any other way.

Just changing the engine mount is tight on that side so it's not going to be a nice job.

Yes, it's possible; on some header installations, I have to temporarily remove the RH mount/brkt in order to get the pipes into location.

Thanks Randy but not sure this applies to the S50 bracket which has a much larger heat shield than the S52/S54 bracket. I have asked my local Indy and he thinks it will drop out from below with the subframe dropped so will give it a go.
