  • Autohaus Diagnostics

I had my MC in with Autohaus Diagnostics recently for a couple of jobs. Nothing major, just modified wiring to sort out the airbag system light and one of the front calipers needed new seals

Very impressed with the lads friendly, knowledgable approach, talking me through the work required. Really nice workshop setup and attitude. Not the cheapest prices I was quoted, or the nearest indy to me, but I'll be very happy to continue using them

Another great experience with these guys last week. I called in to book the MC in for a service and to replace the rear brake lines. While there I discussed the fact that there's been a slight hesitation on light, constant throttle intermittently. Despite being busy, within a couple of minutes they had it plugged in to diagnostics, identified an error recorded by one of the O2 sensors, diagnosed unmetered air entering the system and found the cause of the leak within seconds. Simple to resolve so just told me how to fix the leak myself.

No charge for the diagnostics or advice. I removed and refitted the deformed seal myself on Saturday morning and sure enough it's fixed the fueling and also appears to have been the cause of the cars slightly erratic idle speed that I suspected may be down to the idle control valve.

I've no hesitation in recommending these guys at all.

      Great feedback matey...

Just out of interest, is there any reason you didn't use B&M Care? Very close to you I'm guessing, in Leeds?

Yeah, it would be much more convenient for me to use BM Servicing but I did a little digging around the web. I found plenty of decent reviews but a few that put me off considering them. A couple of those that had given bad feedback suggested Autohaus Diagnostics so I had a drive over to see the setup and talk to the 2 lads there and just came away feeling that I'd be happy to leave the car in their care. Very small outfit, with just the 2 of them, but really professional,

It's only been small jobs so far (brake caliper overhaul, diagnosing a wheel speed related click from rear - only charged me for about half the time they spent on that - sorting out loom for airbag light and this last wander over) but their attitude has been great.

So far, I've been really impressed. The only downside for me is the distance and no courtesy car, but the fact that I feel I can trust them with the car means more to me than the convenience of using somebody closer. I've no experience with B&M myself, so can't comment on their performance - they may well be as good as these guys?

Booked the old girl in for an Insp II next week with these guys, seemed to know MC's and associated issues well and advised they would be checking boot floor and VANOS (inc filter change) as standard, all checks documented on a report if required.

Not that close to me either but weekend/evening drop off & collections by arrangement a big help.

          Will report back next week

              Tony

I think you are fairly local to me - Harrogate.

If so have you considered GC Motors? Looks very much sales orientated but actually they have a very good service dept. and are used to all sorts of high performance car maintenance. Just seeing what they are working on up on the ramps in the workshop gives one confidence.

Again not the cheapest but they are very thorough and ultra competent. Been very happy with what they have done for me.

Still good to know there are other alternatives not too far away.

Thanks Col. As you say, always good to know where the trusted service departments are.

Just need to work out which destination has the worst traffic flow - Harrogate or York ring road ;)

Hopefully pick car up tomorrow evening, very happy with the communication and detail the guys went into when checking it over.

Workshop very tidy with all the mod cons.

They were impressed with how 'clean' and original the car was so got great feedback.

Boot floor and VANOS checked and thankfully all in good order

Only thing identified that would require attention in the not too distant future was the rear top mounts, these are getting replaced along with a brake and coolant fluid change.

I was advised to stick with OEM top mounts based on the rest of the car being original and not doing track days etc.

                  Inspection II - £617
                  Top mounts - £143
                  Brake & coolant fluid change - £116

Overall very happy with the service, communication and reasonable price

                        Great pic!

Gutted that I had to drive it home mucky on Saturday in the glorious weather, was crappy and wet when I drove it up the weekend before.

They seem like a couple of great guys, good find

My wife gave me a lift over to collect ours on Saturday morning, to find yours parked outside... "Ooooo, that's nice. Why didn't we get that colour?" Women!

Glad the Autohaus Diagnostics lads met with your expectations mate.

I've been using Autohaus Diagnostics for repair and service of my MC since buying it back in 2010, and they never disappoint with their level of knowledge, professionalism and fairness.

With them also being MINI specialists, I took the '14 Cooper S that we bought last year over to them today for a service - unaware that the original buyer of the car had purchased it with the Service Pack. The lads could quite easily have carried out the service and billed us, but instead called straight away to let us know that if we took it to a MINI dealer instead, the service would be covered by the Service Pack. So that'll be a couple of hundred quid staying in the bank to put towards an Inspection II of the MC later in the year
