    Welcome to the forum

At the end of the day it's worth to you is what you're happy paying for it, but I'm sure you can expect a barrage of opinion here

Cat D is only cosmetic damage so no reason not to buy the car - just accept it’s going to have a lower resale value down the line and therefore aim to pay accordingly.

However engine & colour changes are generally more frowned upon - particularly the engine as it may make fault finding a challenge when you have to reverse engineer someone else’s work....

Is this car in Glasgow? Pretty sure I saw one advertised that matched this description when I was looking for mine some 6-8 months ago - if so suggests either it’s overpriced or the seller is struggling to find a buyer for all the above reasons. IIRC the swap had been done by some company in Portsmouth with a whole host of mods which means really, any issues, you need to take it to Portsmouth to get it looked at as it’s likely too specialist for anyone else to work out.

Welcome to the forum, there are some details on the forum from a old for sale thread here,

        https://www.z3mcoupe.com/forum/showt...ht=laguna+seca

The car has been for sale for a good while so maybe the seller will be willing to do a good deal? good luck

Ah that one, yes been for sale for quite a while, not for the purists with the conversion and CAT D but PHWOAR look at it, an S54 and LSB! If the condition checks out and the price is right then I'm sure you'll have a lovely car.

I was going to look last year but in the end didn't have time to travel up to scotland from Essex.

Bear in mind that at 5yrs old the value would have still been fairly decent to write off, so may have been more damage than had it happened around 2010 for example. However also bear in mind that this was 16years ago, so any issues would have manifested themselves and/or been fixed in this time.

              thanks

Thanks for the replies. Insurance was far too high with the s54 swap so I had to pull out of the deal.

I really like that car and if I had the money I'd buy it. Would love an LSB!!

Very strange goings on with this one. It’s been for sale for a good couple of years.

Strange that the author would erase all comments.
