Default Fitting steering wheel slip ring

I have a new slip ring to fit which comes with a red lock tab which I presume gets removed after fitting the ring to steering wheel - is there anything else to watch out for as information on internet is vague ?

I’d imagine the red lock tab sets it centrally? Just don’t turn it when fitting the wheel.

Red tab appears to be a lock to stop any movement, I found a good write up here,
