Hello guys,
Some of you might remember few years back there was one Z3M V10 build by a Bulgarian guy called Denis. Build thread
The car was initially build to compete in the Bulgarian rally championship and did few races before unfortunately Denis fell of a motorbike at a speed of more than 300 km/h. Thank God, he survived but this took more than 2 years to get him back in a "normal" state. During that time the car was left in an old warehouse and was sitting there waiting one day Denis to fire it up again. Sad thing is that Denis has still some problems with one of his legs and may never return again to real racing, or at least not soon, and as his recovery drained a lot of money they decided to put the car on sale (not officially).
About 3 weeks ago I was on a business trip in Gabrovo (a city in Bulgaria) and once my meeting was over I uncedenetally saw Denis and his father passing me on the street. I went to say hi and we had a little chat, were at some point he told me that he they are very sad as they have to put the car for sale...Which car I asked?! And they said the Z3...At that point certain memories of a screaming V10 started to appear in my mind and I asked if it would be possible to see the car...with no real intentions to buy it.
The car as mentioned above was sitting in an old dirty warehouse surrounded by thousands of old parts... As you can see from this image:
The car was not started for more than 1.5 years and yet very surprisingly for me it started from scratch we just added fuel and a battery...and that noise....
Long story short, after I saw the car I new I was going to buy it and a day later it came to Sofia (capital of Bulgaria) for a inspection which went well and now I am the lucky owner of this baby. We changed the bearings that were just in time for change (the car has 53,000km) and some other small bits and pieces.
As this project was done 5 years ago, not much info was available for S85 swap, especially in terms of electronics, thus the car has all of the cables and electronics from the M6 just sitting there inside
More pics and info is coming as I do bits and pieces of the car :)
