    Again, speculating only, but if someone sees "Cat D" in the ad, they may never call. If they call and you tell them the situation, you at least have a chance to discuss the car with them.

    It's a similar reason as to why dealers us "POA" for some specialist car sales - the price on it's own might put a potential buyer off, but a chance to "sell" the car might generate a sale.

    Anyhow, it seems rather academic now!

        if the buyer uses this forum he will have had access to the cars recent history and also the cars recent for sale prices, hence all the "new listings " posts

          only just found this thread and im miffed 1 that i missed the chance to buy my car back (it was mint) and 2 that it was suggested that he didnt know it was cat D..... he did It was in the ad when I sold it and we spoke about it. I wouldnt mislead anyone in any way
