Sorry to drag this topic up, but my MC is off the road when there is salt down and I have a trickle charger I want to fit.

Stupid questions but do I connect it under the bonnet or to the battery directly? The manual says that to charge the battery it should be removed from the car - do I need to do this to trickle charge it? Can I leave the battery connected?

My trickle charger has been connected to the terminals under the bonnet for several months with no problems.

Equally I have the 'permanent' C-Tek leads connected to my battery so I can easily plug-in when required.

Been using for years with no issues.

Thanks gents - so no need to unplug the battery, and should be OK to connect under the bonnet.

you can or get a cut out switch fitted but its good to have a trickle charger which keeps the battery at full charge and you dont lose radio memories etc.
