  • Supercharger.....

Going to sell my 997 3.8S when I come back from holiday in August so was contemplating Supercharging my Z3M Coupe.

Just a few questions if I may?.....

Would it be worth while changing to a 6 speed gearbox?
    Which Supercharger would anyone recommend?
Does the engine need any internal upgrades/modifications?
What's the average cost of a new one or would it be worth while buying a second hand set up?

      6 speed box a must
How handy are you st fabrication ?
And how much do you want to spend?
Rotrex make great chargers and they are small
If you want one either as a kit or just the charger speak to Richard at TTS in silverstone
I’m sure there was another kit for sale on here not that long ago

Yes one on here got sold and was relatively cheap tbh.
Was looking at getting a used one...
What's the 6 speed box like? I know the E36 EVO M3 is probs the one to get, the prop will need shortening but would it be more or less straight forward job or a ball ache?

6speed is great. Should have been a factory fit

              Shorten and balance prop
              Shorten gear linkage
              Few minor tweaks
I would change clutch and gearbox oil too but that’s just me

              Where you based ?

So what is your goal performance wise? Or you just want a nice project?

My S54 with Schrick cams has about 370 horses at the crank and in my opinion it is more than enough for this chassis with it’s old fash.... uhm “vintage” rear suspension from the E30 period. Now I am a natural aspiration fan but I would go for a nice set of cams, adjust the compression ratio and get a good tune in you standard ECU. I think it’s a bit of a waste of the brilliant S50 (and S54) to go the force induction route imho. These engines are such good high performance N/A engines! For any lower rpm engines force induction is a great mod.

6 speed transmission is absolutely a nice modification
