  • Sending a Private Message

If you want to send a private message to another forum member its very straight forward, first click on the members name (within a post) and you will see a drop down box, click on send a private message to.... or if you are looking at the members forum details page at the top left of screen you will see "send message" click on this to see a drop down box, click on second line which is send private message. If you click on the first box "post a visitor message" the member will normally only see this if they look at their own forum profile.
If none of this works the member may have set their options not to allow private messages.

Just a reminder of how to use the private message function of the forum, its easy to use the visitor message by mistake which means your message will be public for everyone to see

Another function worth having if you don't log onto the forum that often is you can get a email to alert you when a new private message is received, you can do this by - user CP - edit options - tick box "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages"

Just a reminder for those members who may only log in to the forum occasionally - you can get a email reminder that lets you know when you have received a private message.

This is not set up as standard so you will need to alter your standard options to allow this to happen.

Click on USER CP then EDIT OPTIONS under private messaging section click box "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages"

        simple as that

Is there any way to have the mailbox size increased? Mine always seems full but doesn't have a massive amount of messages in it!
