  • Aircon switch button bulb blown

The top button on my aircon switch doesn't light when pressed - has anyone changed the bulb on one of these?

I have read there can be a problem with the bulbs coming loose so will have to take a look at the switch and see if it can be dismantled. New switch is around £80

I'm sure this is integrated in to the switch.

It looks like it is possible but not easy to just replace the bulb which is soldered in place - easier to replace the complete switch. Part number for 04<99 cars is no longer available but you can use the later part number.

Update - Took a switch apart and its really easy to replace bulbs which are 12v 1.2 watt capless which can be bought from ebay for £1.80 for 10x inc postage (same bulbs used in other parts of car like headlight switch).
Open switch with small screwdriver and bulbs just pull out.

Two types of a/c switch were used on the coupes and this pictures shows both fitted for some strange reason,

early type on left which is now n/a and later version on right
