  • Clutch Pedal Failure

So the Coupe left me at the side of the road for the first time in the three years I've owned it. A day in the stop start traffic of Central London seemed to be a bit too much for part of the clutch pedal and pulling away from some lights something let go and and I could no longer find a gear.

Fortunately I managed to stop and get into first and then got off at the first place I could which happened to be Streatham kwik Fit who very kindly let me get the car inside and lent me a couple of tools to get the trim off and start having a look at what went wrong. Im no expert on the linkages etc behind the pedals but I did find the plastic piece which had split and was no longer gripping the clutch cable going through the bulkhead and managed to get a jubilee clip to clamp it back round the cable.

A picture of part that failed. You can see the split in the plastic.

Now I've been looking on realOEM to try and find the part that needs replacing but not sure I'm looking at the right bit.

I can't see it on this picture

And it doesn't seem to be on this page either?

So has anyone had a similar issue or know where I can find which part I need to replace? I don't recall ever seeing this discussed before on here among the common issues, my car is at just under 108000 miles.

The jubilee clip is still doing its job and got me back from london to glasgow the next day

Hmmm I was hoping that may not be the case as it looks like i'll have to replace the whole component instead of just the plastic link but looks like it might be.......
