            Schnitzer Rest--thanks Alpina !!!!!

Congrats Dave--if anyone could find it--you would.

Back in the 60.s when Burkard Bovensiepen was starting to produce the Alpina goodies for BMW cars, he made a footrest for his Left foot which always had an ankle problem. The foot rest was cut from a steel sheet with raised pattens to give a grip, similar to our Uk Admiralty plate used on ships, and BB thought that there must be other drivers who may have the same problems. So this rest became a standard fitting when producing the complete cars in 1977, which I found in my LHD Alpina B 7 in 1981.

The left clutch foot is in a upright position most of the time, and is unsupported --with the rest fitted it feels comfortable and very quick to clutch in---

Schnitzer many years later added their version to their range of goodies--- at a price.

Maybe I'm odd but I never use the footrest in any car I drive, it just feels wrong to me!!
