Good luck with the sale fella, looks like a good project for someone, those bolt on rear quarter panels are not as expensive as i thought.

Cheers - it seems to be going quite well on eBay at the moment and hopefully it works out well for all involved when the auction ends at the weekend.

Its still in his driveway...

One of my work colleagues lives near and drives past it every day - he told me about the car a while ago as he knows I have one - just in case you think I am stalking!

Think its a big gamble at 15k, if its been standing, breaks, disks, quarter panels, and any number of other possible defects. Whats the underside look like, break lines, rubbers, etc. Considering it might be worth 18-20k done, or 30 if you just want to list it forever!!

Thats just my valuation tho :0 But its no minter!!

That won’t be too expensive to put right but will obviously put off the "investment buying brigade". The rear end of these are relatively simple to take apart/work on and those wings are under £300 from bmw which are a bolt on panel. You won’t find many under 15k these days as the sum of its parts isn’t far off that price if you break it. I know of at least 2 online that are priced through the roof and claim to be minters which have had a different past than advertised.

Personally i like to buy cars that have been driven, maintained and not sat on a forecourt for over 12 months (Old fluids, rubber perishing, etc etc)

Never looked at the pictures before, but I've never seen rust like that on the rear arches before and this is after having been resprayed at some point too.

It does look odd, spraying is all in the prep !!!

If the shell isn't showing signs of corrosion new wings are not really a big issue.

Good project for someone.
