  • Help Please - Fault P1351 - Cylinder 5 Misfire Shutdown

    Evening all,

My brother owns an S54 and has ran into an issue with his M Coupe that has been garaged for sometime.

The car itself starts up without issues and thereafter sounds as though its 'missing'. Fault code was pulled out as 'P1351' Cylinder 5 Shutdown after Misfire.

Anyone had a similar issue and possible remedy? Ive attached a photo of the read out.

    Would appreciate any help,

    Thank You

Could be something simple like a coil pack or a spark plug. If you can read the codes yourself then try swapping coil packs around to see if the fault moves. If it doesn’t then try swapping plugs around to see if that moves the fault.

I had something similar and when checking found it was a bad spark plug, same thing happened a few weeks later (different cylinder) - again same culprit.

Changed all the plugs out and everything has been fine since - put it down to a faulty batch of spark plugs

Thanks guys for help and advice regarding this. Turned out to be a faulty coil pack in the end. Now sorted.
