  • Camber/Castor plates

I already have K-Mac camber/castor plates which have polyurethane around the bearings and they are very acceptable for NVH on the road. I'd like to hear from those with solid camber/caster plates whether they find that type of top mount acceptable in everyday use as well as on track?

    Hi Mate,
I have the type 2 ones, which are a half-way house, I find that they are fine on the road, this is in conjunction with the lower profile 18" tyres. The whole set up is a little harsher than the standard arrangement, but certainly does not ruin the ride!

Hi! you've been quiet since you fitted your new wheels. You must've been out driving all the time.

I expect that an increase in suspension stiffness could be sorted out by adjusting the damper settings, I'm more concerned with a lot of vibration being transmitted to the cabin which might turn it into a sound-box for road noise. What's that like?

I picked up a set of GAZ race caster/camber plates for a Z4 with bearings which are the wrong size to fit the pistons of my Z4MC, but with a little bit of grinding of the baseplate they should fit my MC. So, I'm wanting to make my mind up whether to do the grinding and fit them to the MC or whether to try to get some new bearings and fit them to the Z4MC?

Do you know where I might get some spherical bearings to get them to fit the Z4MC? They're 35mm OD and need to fit a 16mm diameter piston, so 19mm ID, and need an internal brass ferrule with a flat surface at one end.

I've been about, just not as much as when I was working on the Coupe all the time; been busy doing other things!

I haven't noticed any increase in road noise, but mine do have a very small amount of polyurethane.
