  • Windscreen replacement

My screen cracked on the way home from the Zedfest - big 6 inch crack so replacement is necessary.
When I phoned Autoglass to replace the screen in my other car last year, they hit me with several technical questions about the type of screen I had ( blue/ green glass; sun "strip" etc). I had to go to a garage to get the answers to all of these ( as I dont know a thing about cars - or windscreens for that matter) before I could order a replacement.

Questions: what do I need to know about my screen before I order a replacement ? How many types are there and are some better than others ?

    Any help/ advice greatly appreciated

I think there are only two options normal screen or screen with top tint so go for the top tint option, one thing to be careful of is the rubber seal is specific to the coupe

and is different to the roadster so if they are going to replace the seal they must get the correct part.

If for some strange reason anybody is replacing their windscreen without using their insurance then I have a good condition windscreen rubber sealing strip which was on my car for only a year or so before being replaced as a matter of routine when my windscreen was replaced again.
