  • How to fit a battery

    Sorry if this sounds silly

I just purchased a new battery Bosch Silver S5. There is a sticker on top that states remove both vents.

The old battery had no vent tube, so not sure if this is relevant or not?

It is relevant. Most cars have a vent tube to connect to the battery - I don't recall if the coupe has one or not. Either way I'd remove the bungs as advised by the manufacturer.

Standard BMW battery has a drain hole and a tube which exits out of the bottom of the plastic battery box,

      parts 6 7 and 9

Thanks guys :) i had a look mine does have the tube but the old battery is not connected to it.

The new battery states remove both bungs, which doesn't make sense, surely i need to remove only the one... in which the tube will need to be connected to i would have thought
