  • Deleting front number plate

    Hi everyone

Has anyone in the UK deleted/removed the front number plate and replaced it with a sticker plate instead? I'm seriously thinking of doing this very soon. If you have, where was the new number plate situated and could I see any photos you might have please?

    Cheers in advance

I run a 3/4 front plate stuck on the bumper with double sided tape so no screw holes, makes a nice visual difference but still clearly legible so doesn't hopefully attract any attention. I don't run the plate plinth.

I wouldn't place it anywhere other than the centre of the bumper/standard position. Would look rubbish offset for example IMO.

It does look good with no plate though

Thanks for your comments, I was thinking offsetting it to the left but you're right, central is best!

I just personally think it looks a bit odd, and see a lot of modified hatchbacks with plates on the side.

I've replaced the number plate plinth with a sticker equivalent.

The purpose of tailoring the size of sticker to the front bumper bar was to improve better air flow to the FMIC.
            (Plus a little weight save)

I also happen to think the presentation can look just as smart as the standard finish, but I would agree a central point not too small, a small minority of cars suit that look better than others. I went slightly shorter in height and in width which works for me.

To produce the front plate I used http://www.craigsplates.ie/self_adhe...tes/index.html ,the quality was better than I expected.

A photo with the sticker plate.

Haha good spot, never notice that!! Think that validates my point entirely; you don't want your car to look like that thing
