Yellow stuff pads for track work are shit3, ds2500 personally I hate them and a few friends who run track cars also don’t like them, the best all round we’ve tried are Padgid rs29.

Thanks Nigt. Consensus seems to be RS 29s are the ones to go for.

I have a big brake set up front and back and although the coupe is never tracked the braking feel and stopping power is in another league compared to the stock set up even with better pads, just ask anyone who has actually fitted them to a M Coupe or E46 CSL which uses single piston calipers.

I have only ever had poor experiences with EBC products - and pad crumbling happened to me on the motorway once under only moderate braking.... a very unnerving experience.

I used to suffer pad taper with the CL RC6 pads due to the high friction level so ran solid brass guides (instead of the rubber ones). It helped but didn't stop it completely, but it was less of an issue with the rs29. This issue is one of the reasons a BBK with multipot calipers can offer better (straighter) pad wear due to even clamping and less caliper twist. But its not a major issue for the odd trackday. |

I remember the magazines slating BMW particularly with the M3 CSL for doggedly sticking to a single piston floating caliper for so long!

I've had a couple of sets of Yellow stuff Pads. Seem to get mixed reviews on here but no complaints from me - performance / value has been good in my experience.
