Another option is a non-OEM mirror base, which I'm sure somebody had used to overcome a similar problem in your other post describing the wobbly mirror. I believe they are made from plastic but once painted look the same as original base.
I'll keep searching to see if I can find details unless anyone else on here can remember about these items.

Found the details I was after, but not sure if applies to Z3M style mirrors though, just the ordinary Z3 door mirrors.

According to Google Translate

I still need to have a plastic weld done and paint the mirror body so just ordered the base with no paint!
