Met up with lads at the Blue Bell pub car park as arranged, Mr Stink(Simon), Jess and his wife + dog, Dave and his dad & myself. After a bit of a natter we went in convoy to Aston Workshop. It was a lot bigger affair than I imaged it would be and very well organised.
Aston Workshop seem to specialise in Morgans (small workshop) and Aston Martins, the value of cars they have at their facility must run into many millions. Had a look around the very impressive Aston Martin set up, they have a machine shop, engine assembly shop, preparation shop, body shops, and paint shop. From talking to technicians and mechanics it seems they do everything in house apart from crankshaft grinding and leather upholstery work.
I had to leave a little early at 1:00pm as I had to get to Penrith for a football match. Lovely run over Hartside the odd idiot on motorbike plus another in a Radical type sports car overtaking me and a car in front of me approaching a blind crest, if anything coming the other way ......... ?. Saw them both at the car park of the burnt out Hartside Cafe, comparing notes, so think they must use the road as a bit of a race track.

See if can attach my pics from Flickr.

Spot the barn find!!

Found out that David Dunn and Jess Robson live 5 miles from each other and had never meet before although they had I believe they had seen each others cars on the road before.

this is how I do it but it may differ with different software -

In flick go to the picture you want to post and view it so that it is the only picture on your screen

on bottom right of picture go to arrow pointing down and click on it

click on "view all sizes"

if picture size looks ok then right click on your mouse and click on copy
(picture size options are on top of screen if you need to alter size)

go into forum and right click on mouse and paste

It was a good day, having blagged our way into the exhibition area to display the cars, a number of people came up for a chat, many of which I directed to the forum!
The whole event was much better than I thought it might be and was well attended until the rain showers started about 3.00pm.
The opportunity to look around Aston Workshop and the cars they are currently restoring was well worth the trip. Many DB4, 5's and 6's where under various stages of restoration, the shells once repaired spend 300 hours in the paint shop with a total restoration taking 18-24 months! Needless to stay when they emerge they are practically new cars!

Mr Stink (Martin). (Simon was my brother).

Apologies Martin I’m terrible at remembering names!
Glad you enjoyed the day. Hope they make it an annual event.

Enjoyed it too, especially the convoy at the start - rarely do you get to enjoy the sight of an M Coupe in front of you and in your rear mirrors simultaneously - they still look amazing on the road.

I also enjoyed the guys from the NE BMW club videoing us arriving :)
