  • Brake part prices

Been shopping around for OEM disks and pads - refuse to go to Euro Car parts!

Best prices by far are through a BMW dealer that has links to BMW car club :
    BMW Hereford.

I got prices from my local BMW dealer and the Hereford prices are much cheaper, they dont charge delivery and he threw in some free bolts!

    Local dealer prices:

    Front disks: £137
    Rear Disks: £105
    Rear Pads:£48

    Hereford Prices

    Front Disks: £115
    Rear Disks: £88
    Rear Pads:£40

Nice people to deal with as well. Tel No is 01432 375 564

      Hi,

I worked for Cotswold BMW (Chelt), I can get staff discount still with my friends that work there.

I can get you some more discount hopefully... i'll pop in on my way home and find out prices for the items you've listed. Then can always get them for you to pick up or something??

      Cheers
      Paul

BM Mini Parts are hit and miss.

I recently good what I thought was a good price for a £40ish item from them. Were about £6 cheaper than main dealer, but the cheapest postage BM-Mini offer is £8 courier? Mad.

Instead I went to my other forums main dealer (Cotswold Cheltenham, who offer a good discount to forum members and free postage) and got the parts much cheaper in the end.

I guess a saving might be achieved from them if the order is high value, but I'd always check places like Cotswold or Hereford.

^^^Paul, totally missed your post mate! Bizzare you should mention Cotswold whilst I'm typing about them!

Excellent service, I can vouch for the parts team there as spot-on and very helpful.

My brother ordered a BMW Performance Exhaust system from them and they saved him hundreds - and posted it out for free (and it weighed a ton)!

            Hi Paul,

Thats very much for the kind offer. The guy I spoke to at Hereford (Cotswold BMW) was really helpful and was going to order the bits from them but if you can get any other discount it would obviously be appreciated.

I tried BMWminiparts and thier prices initially look good but by the time delivery and VAT have been added to the figure its about the same as main dealer...Thier delivery charges are crazy..

            Cheers
            Matt

Wood BMW in Bournemouth quoted £587.00 inc VAT for all discs/pads and wear sensors.
                BMW 1M Coupe (sold)
                BMW Boxercup Replika

                Apparently, other manufacturers do exist.....

No chance! They're usually those dimpled type anodised gold discs.

OEM [front] discs are the only choice. An aftermarket disc won't offer the same performance but they can sometimes cost more (slotted/drilled etc) and they will always be 1-piece. The OEM brake discs are quite "exotic" really mixing lighter aluminium bells with a steel disc so not bad for the cost.
