  • Seat height adjustment Q

My passenger side seat will electrically adjust forward and back but not up and down. Are they separate motors for these functions? Anyone had this issue before? Thanks

Tends to get stuck rather than fail. Often it's at the very bottom or very top of the adjustment range and the " wormwheel" binds abit and the motor doesn't attempt to turn due to the tension, but if you free it off they tend to start working again. So likely seat out to free the threaded rod.

That makes sense as I think it’s on the highest setting, certainly higher than the driver’s side. I literally had the seats out this week for restoration, will put up some pics this week before and after.

As c_w said - they get stuck at the extremes. Had the same problem with mine when I first got the car - seat needs to come out to free and grease it.

It is worth replacing the seat bushes whilst it is out to prevent rocking if not already done: https://www.whalenshiftmachine.com/p.../seat-bushings

Thanks for the replies, I have already had a set of Aceman’s seat bushes and they worked a treat, will get the seat out and take a look soon
