  • Bluetooth

My new steed has an aftermarket stereo in it which is fine but looks a bit to “flashy” and out of place - not to mention it lights up the wrong colour (blue).

Ideally I’d like to replace it with a BMW unit - something like the “Busieness CD” but I notice the pin out on the rear is not standard ISO so whereas on other cars you can interface a Bluetooth module, I’m wondering if the same is possible on the BMW units?

If not I wonder if someone can suggest a modern radio with Bluetooth that looks better in the cabin- and lights up orange?

Depends on budget really. If funds can stretch then something from Becker would be spot on

I have been looking at used Becker units on ebay - many seem to have Bluetooth mentioned but as far as I can tell they either need an external Bluetooth module to work, or they will do Bluetooth for phone calls but not for music streaming.

Unless anyone can point me in the direction of a specific model that does both?

Someone on here posted a fantastic fancy replacement that had all the modern guff but still looked great - I can't remember where the post was. It was just in a general thread and someone spotted it I think.

I'd like to find it myself tbh.

Possibly one of these? Looks period but has modern functionality...

Good call - that’s nice eh. The one I’m thinking of had a screen though. I think he had an Mcoupe pic on it. Possibly they are used in Porkers or something can’t recall. I hadn’t heard of the brand though.

Are you looking for music streaming and/or telephone functionality?

Both. Leaning toward the blaupunkt for period looks but if you have another suggestion...

Really would like to know what that other stereo on here was - have looked all over the place but can’t find thread. Was about 2 months ago max.

I have had no joy getting my stereo code so asked a local audio guy to fit me a modern stereo but once he had a look
At the car he mentioned that as it has a HK amp he has to disconnect it all is this correct?
