S54 project.

Hello all, I haven’t been here since I sold my S50 a very long time ago.
A couple of years ago at swva I bought an S54 and since then it’s just sat in the garage.
I’ve finally got round to sorting her out and she’s been sent to a guy I know in Italy to clean her up. He started work yesterday so I’ll post up the pics he’s sending over as soon as I figure it out.

The only good thing about the rise in value from when I last owned one is that I can justify going nuts and having all the work done.

Can I ask what your plan is for the diff? I think the flakey rust is quite a common scenario, I inspected mine when it was last on a ramp and it wasn’t dissimilar. The casing is thick which is its only saving grace. Just wondered if you were going to remove all the rust and paint/treat it or just replace, which I know is on the pricey side.

The plan is to do what you said and remove as much rust as possible by hand, strip it down, sand blast it and the respray. I'll attach a link below to show roughly whats going to be done.

The last few mechanical bits were removed last night and today its heading over to the body shop.
