  • ARB Mounts and Gutted Back Boxes...

    Hi All,

When reinforcing the rear ARB mounts, is it only the chassis mounts that need doing? I seem to remember reading somewhere that the swing arm needed a bit of reinforcement, too? I've tried searching but most people have put pictures of there work that's now lost to Photobucket...

To those of you who've gutted / modified the standard back boxes - would you do it again? If so how far did you go with the removal of pipes? I've found quite a few threads on it... but wondered if anyone would not have done it / done it differently in hindsight.

    Cheers,

    Max

I left the chassis mounts as-is and just had the mounts on the swing arm done on mine:

Did the whole gutted back box experiment, see the sound below.

Now, I love my loud exhausts but this was just too much for me on normal driving - in the end I got a custom system made by an exhaust specialist and I’m much happier !

        Each to their own though!
