How about a thread cataloging/listing the press cars?

Most have a "GAN" ending on the plate.

I have a few old EVO mags and Autocar, probably like most people.

Fond memories of Evo's long termer reports, amongst them maybe black coupe "S88 HOT" drifting around a circuit.

Two early EVO issues have the Coupe compared to the E30 M3 and others. In one they chose it over the E30 M3 and the others.

Good idea, I was looking for details of one of the press cars yesterday but couldn't find any. I have bought a job lot of 1998 magazines and articles on the introduction of the M Coupe and there are several GAN cars.

I would like to scan and post up all the articles but am close to my limit in flicker and don't really want to spend £8 per month just to post up pictures on the forum.

Some later press features like men and motors tv programme and top gear featured cars with the reg ending T*** ARX of which a Dakar is still owned by a forum member

Clarkson flogs a Blue M Coupe about also a GAN i think in one of his own videos "Head to Head" often incorrectly reported as a Top Gear test.

He described the handling as perfection if you are a hooligan etc :)
