  • Airbag Light

I've read a lot of the history on the Forum and it would seem that I have committed the cardinal sin of moving the seats (to look for my lost radio code card - still looking). Airbag light came on after 2 miles the day after I moved the seats.
What I can't see is the definitive fix or what to look for, other than replacing the loom? I found under the driver's seat a small black connector with 3 wires but nowhere obvious to stick it, looks like it would be more at home in a computer than a car? Some of the threads imply that the light just needs resetting?
Driver's seat does rock, so is it replacement bushes and a loom?

    Hey Bricki...
Check on here for the loom part numbers...it is not only longer but has a different connector on the end....the wire that gets changed is the one that goes to the active part of the seat belt tensioner...they are available from the dealers...and while the seat is out renew the bushes!!!! also available on this site! both are worthy upgrades to say the least!

Thanks Dave, my local dealer seemed to think that it was 61 12 9 118 122, but they weren't sure, hence why I wanted to check on here!!

I know that there's a thread where someone had done the job & they listed the part number, buggered if I can find it now though!!

                Ok, part no: B61.12.9.118.122
It's called a "repair cable" and was £33.72 inc vat.

My advice is to use the low voltage crimp connectors that are supplied with the cable, I then heat shrink the exposed section and wrap in the oem style fabric tape. I find that normal insulating tape will not allow the flex and will end up pulling the cable/connectors leading to another error light.

See the item numbers for the two items I bought off eBay to complete the job.

                Good luck.

                Item no: 291232921471
                And no: 131264192890

                Cheers,

                Ben.
