  • Stupid problem with handbrakes shoes

I can't get the disc over one the handbrake shoes on one side.

    I have:

Removed, cleaned and greased the adjuster, wound it fully in

Tried to check cable end fully in and also greased

light smear of grease to allow the shoes to slide on the backing plate

    tried centering the whole assembly

Basically at the bottom where the cable is the two ends struggle to butt up against the solid metal block

The brake shoes are genuine BMW

The other slide slid right on.

    Cables loose in the cabin.

Is there something stupid that i could be doing??? Shoes or adjuster on wrong? works fine for other side and have looked at diagrams etc

    Thanks in advance!!!

Have you got one of the shoes on upside down?

is it worth taking some measurements in case a part is incorrect?

Note how the little cut out notch in the shoes goes to the bottom
