  • Replacement Key

Has anyone had to get a replacement key? I did a search of the forum and it did not come back with much so apologies if this has been covered.

I'm in the process of shipping the car and the first cargo handler has lost the key.

I have a spare but I want the OEM original looking key as a replacement.

Does a dealer need to do the reprogramming?

    Cheers

Many thanks Dave, that is a great help.

The design of the key is the same as used in the e36 right?

and the final step 6, you'd need to repeat the previous step with any key you wanted to continue to be able to use yes? (so for the "spare" - now primary - key to work need to also do previous steps??

Yes you need to do the process with all your keys at the same time well one after the other! there are some other threads regarding keys on the forum I will add link.
