£40 + VAT for a basic 'power run' to determine BHP or £70 + VAT for the rolling road which includes 'setting up' checking/adjusting the fuel line, and lamda sensor whatever that is.

Is it worth the extra for the second option or should that be left to a specialist?
There's nothing to adjust that I'm aware of! adjustments can only be made via "remap".

I think its to check thats its all working ok - the results are not so good for the MC as it was difficult to get a good reading when I did mine - I'd just go for the basic power output one.

Would have liked to play a bit more but by the time we reached the motorway and after frightening a fiesta driver, I might have been very close to exceeding the speed limit so backed off a bit. And to be fair, the motorway was quite busy in all 3 lanes.

Very impressed though, really surprised, especially as there wasn't even piles of black diesel smoke coming out of the back.
The 335d's as well as quite few modern diesels are fitted with particulate filters which remove the black soot (burn it), so you no longer see this coming from the pipes.

It was busy on the m/way so it was the right choice not to play.

          Jules.

Chopper, who is this with? Wouldn't pay the £70 as there's not a great deal they can / will do. £40 for the power run is fine though. Most people now have their cars run on Dyno Dynamics RR so if it's one of them then you can compare (approx) with other ZMC's. If the one you've been quoted for isn't a DD then let me know, as I use one in Chesterfield quite regularly which is a dyno dynamics. It's a bit of a journey (takes me 40mins and I live just off J38) but worth it.

Jules, it was Well Lane Turbo centre in Batley, I've heard some not so good stories about the place but thought it would be ok just for a power reading? no idea what type of RR they have.

I guess I could give them a call to find out...

I'd give them a miss. I've been there before and was none too impressed. I think that there are a couple of places around Leeds / Halifax with Dyno Dynamics rollers, the only reason I would recommend these is because there are plenty of graphs for these rollers for most cars, they can run in shoot out mode which means that all variables are the same for each car. Surrey Rolling Road is quite a well known place for rolling road days, so lots of graphs etc. If you fancy a drive down to the one in chesterfield let me know and I'll see what I can sort out as I know the owner well.

Even the 320d's not so shabby...in germany at the mo and got one as a hire car

makes the MC feel so old fashioned, but is still a boring repmobile with no character and looks like a Mitsubishi Carisma from behind.....

                    BTW empty autobahns are

Jules, just found this place, any feedback? It has the Dyno Dyamics and is based in Leeds not far from where I work, could pop in one afternoon on my way home. Chesterfield is a bit of a trek especially as my next few weekends are booked up, ta very much for the offer though.

Mines an early S50 with 90k on the clock, will be interesting to see how it compares to Muppetmans MC with 51 ponies missing.

That place sounds / looks fine.

Let us know how you get on. I'll hazard a guess that you'll be pushing 300bhp+ at the fly (a healthy S50).

Make sure you do the obvious things like check your oil, water and tyre pressures.
