For that money you could get your own wheel re-trimmed to your own design with Royal Wheels.

I was hoping to keep the original so a replacement would suit better. I have emailed the company for the part number so hopefully it matches the existing one.

              Help please

Need a bit of help and someone who understands German.

I want to order a steering wheel for my 2002 Z3 M Coupe. I'm based in South Africa, so can't really do the steering wheel exchange offered by Royal Steering Wheels.

There is a guy from Germany selling complete steering wheels on eBay. Prices are not too bad and he ships to SA. I'm just not sure whether the wheel would fit my car.

This is the steering wheel I'm after, any help appreciated...

Most German vendors are normally very good with written English so may be worth an email to him?

Thanks Dave. I sent a few messages, but didn't get a response. I ended up buying the steering wheel after removing my airbag to compare wheels. It looks exactly like the wheel on mine, so fingers crossed.

There are differences between some of the E36/E39 steering wheels which look the same but have different methods of attaching a slip ring also later two stage steering wheels have a different part number

so maybe the airbag hole is slightly larger (I think you can still fit a two stage airbag into a single stage wheel?) The E36/Z3 wheels have a triangular opening in the aluminium centre and the E39/E46 (not all E39!)

have a slightly curved letterbox type opening.

Edit - don't try and fit a two stage airbag to a single stage slip ring/car!

Will flog the one that I don't use. Still waiting on BMW SA to give me a price on the tabs / inserts for the one wheel.

Yes both are E36/Z3 steering wheels with the triangular opening

The steering wheel tabs also have a different part number for later cars so again maybe due to the size of the two stage airbag
