Do Yellowstuff pads squeal really badly when new and not yet bed in yet?

  • #2
Not in my experience, I've never had squeak from Yellows on factory calipers. May depend on the application though, some calipers may be more prone to squeal than others. Why?

I've had them on for a few years now - never had a squeak.

I don't track mine - it does a mix of nip to the shops and spirited cross country driving. I've found them either as good, or better than OEM depending on the situation. Absolute no brainer IMO.

They can run as quiet as stock, maybe try a spot of grease on the back of pads where they touch the pistons?

They come with copper grease which I put on so hopefully they may improve when bed in (which may take a while with the lack of mileage I am doing)

Maybe just need some heavier use, problem with running brakes like yours is that even what feels like moderate to harder use isn't really testing for them.

Have you bedded them in or just installed them and run it around a little ? try 60 to 20 heavy braking a dozen or so times then a steady drive home to cool them off , it wipes the bed in compound off and cleans the disc up

Drove the car for a few miles today and the fronts have improved but not the rears but hopefully they will improve with mileage

Would anybody be able to confirm the manufacturer number for EBC Yellow Stuff pads for the front of the MC please?

Or just if they're the same fit as the M Roadster. I figured that they would be but Eurocarparts on eBay suggests otherwise
