Can anyone recommend a cheap OBD reader for a 1999 S50? I don't need to do anything fancy, just read codes. I have an OBD2 reader for other cars (and it works) but when I try it on the M Coupe with an adaptor (for port under the bonnet) I don't get a connection

The most cost effective way is to DOWNLOAD and install ISTA from the Web, and but your cables from here.

You'll need the USB cable and the 12 pin round connector
