Here is my subwoofer installation.
Hello I´m new to this site. I have just bought a M Coupe for the first time. Been in love with them ever since I saw one for the first time.
The standard sound system was not very good so I wanted to upgrade it.
I wanted the installation to be invisible. I didn´t want to sacrifice my boot space. So the sub box is a bit under size, but the 8'' JL audio 8W3v3 compensates very nicely for it. To be honest I was blown away by the performance of this little box. more than enough bass for me. :-) still a lot of deep bass too.
Initially i feared that turning the sub downward would effect the sound, but i have tested it in both directions and there is no difference at all.
The speakers were swapped with Dynaudio Esotec System 222 both front and back.
Amplifier is JL audio 700/5
Headunit ia a Pioneer 80prs
It plays like a dream!
None of the original cables have been cut, and no holes drilled. So everything can be reverted back to standard if needed. (even though I can`t see why anyone want to do that)

I think some are wired wrong from the factory with the HK sub, I've heard one and there was no bass at all and have heard of many complaints about how poor it is, but my HK factory sub setup is really punchy. I changed the factory headunit to a Becker unit and the sound is exactly the same.
